Ms. Krasner joined the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services' (HHS) Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) headed by Dr. David Brailer, early in its inception, in May 2004, as Senior Advisor for Programs & External Affairs. She brings with her over ten years of healthcare policy and healthcare marketing and communications.

Ms. Krasner has worked in both the non-profit and corporate sectors where her experience has ranged from coordinating high-level press briefings on Capitol Hill to launching health information technology products for Fortune 100 companies and IPO offerings. Before coming to HHS, Ms. Krasner worked as Marketing Director for CareScience, Inc., a "private-to-public" healthcare technology company that sells Internet-based tools and consulting services to hospitals, integrated delivery health systems, and pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. While at CareScience, Ms. Krasner worked on the Santa Barbara County Care Data Exchange™, a community-wide demonstration project that has served as a national model for regional clinical information exchange.

Prior to her role at CareScience, Ms. Krasner worked as a Communications Officer at the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation, a non-partisan, national, healthcare policy think tank. At the Foundation, Ms. Krasner worked on the managed care and healthcare marketplace program areas. She also managed a number of strategic, media partnerships with such organizations as National Public Radio (NPR), The Washington Post, The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, The League of Women Voters, and Univision television network. Prior to her work at the Kaiser Family Foundation, Ms. Krasner worked as a Marketing Manager for Aetna U.S. Healthcare where spearheaded a national provider relations campaign to Aetna's contracted providers.

Ms. Krasner holds an M.A. in Communications from Stanford University and a B.A. in English Literature from the University of California, Los Angeles. She has published a series of articles most recently in the Health Forum and Health Data Management.
